FAQs

Discover answers to frequently asked questions about seeing a psychologist. If your question is not answered here, please feel free to reach out - I aim to offer clear information about the services I provide and am happy to answer queries.

Appointments

Scheduling an appointment is easy. Simply contact me via email or phone to book in a time that suits you.

Psychology sessions last for 50 minutes.

Telehealth sessions can be held from anywhere with an internet connection. Effort should be made to ensure that the environment is quiet and private.

Fees and Payment

Fees are set at $200 per session. Medicare rebates of $98.95 are available with a valid Mental Health Care Plan and GP referral.

A surcharge may apply to weekend and after hours sessions.

RTWSA, CTP and NDIS will be billed according to the gazetted rates of each organisation.

In an effort to keep access to psychological support as affordable as possible, fees have been set well below the Australian Psychological Society recommended rate.

Payments can made via bank transfer or direct debited from a valid credit card, and Medicare rebates will be processed on your behalf.

Referrals and Rebates

To claim a Medicare rebate, you will need to see your doctor for a Mental Health Care Plan and a referral letter addressed to:

Ashlee Raymond

23 Hurlstone St, Peterborough, 5422, SA

Medicare - 5652239Y

This will allow you to claim rebates on an initial 6 sessions, with the possibility of a further 4 sessions in a calendar year, upon review by your GP. I will need a copy of these documents.

Alternatively, you may be able to claim a benefit from your private health fund. Benefit amounts vary depending on your fund and level of cover, so be sure to check with your health fund what you will be eligible for, using the code "200 - Individual Treatment". No referral is required to access these benefits.

Benefits of Telehealth

- Convenient and flexible. Sessions can be held from home or work, which eliminates travel time and is easier to fit into a busy schedule.

- Accessibility. Some clients with neurological conditions, mobility challenges or living in remote locations can find it difficult to access traditional clinics. Telehealth allows individuals to receive the support they need from a space they feel comfortable in.

- After hours and weekend sessions. Not being locked into the traditional opening hours of a physical clinic allows me to offer out of hours appointment times to clients.

- Reduced transmission of COVID-19 and other viruses. Telehealth means clients can still access support if they are mildly unwell and they don't risk picking something up in a stuffy waiting room.

- Efficacy. Studies have shown telehealth psychology to be just as effective as face-to-face sessions.

Confidentiality and Consent

Your privacy is a top priority. I adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to ensure that your personal information and discussions remain private and secure. You will be sent further information on confidentiality and informed consent prior to your first appointment.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

I understand that life happens and sometimes, plans need to change. Please attempt to provide at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Late cancellations will incur a cancellation fee, and repeat cancellations may lead to cessation of services.
