Meet Ashlee Raymond - Psychologist
I grew up in the suburbs of Adelaide, which is where I completed my studies and established my psychological career. In the city, I worked in leading psychology and inter-disciplinary clinics, and developed a special interest in treating trauma, as well as working in brain injury and concussion rehabilitation. I would describe myself as empathic, creative and genuine in my work with clients.
2 and a half years ago, I left the city, in favour of country life. I took a break from full-time psychology and went on a huge adventure, working in the shearing sheds of outback Australia. My experiences in the sheds have changed my perspective on life, work and balance - Which is my aim now, to create a balance between my old and new lives. I hope to use my skills as a psychologist to support people in chronically under-serviced areas or with specialised support needs, while also setting aside time to get out in the sheds and throw a few fleeces.

My eclectic life experiences, from the air conditioned offices of Adelaide, to wool handling and shearing sheep in the vast red dirt country of SA and beyond, gives me a unique ability to connect with individuals from many walks of life.

I find it beneficial working through a Schema Therapy lens with most clients. I also compliment this by employing strategies from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness based approaches.

I work with adult clients presenting with a range of concerns, including:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Trauma
-
PTSD
-
Neurological conditions (e.g., Brain Injury, Stroke, Persistent Concussion, Functional Neurological Disorder)
-
Grief and loss
-
General need for mental health support

I am also a board approved supervisor and available to supervise other psychologists.
